Quinn Before the Senate

[Verse 1] Senators, I came here with dust on my boots and truth in my mouth. My name is Xander Quinn. Jedi Knight of the Republic. And I did not survive Tatooine to be lectured by polished mouths in a clean room. You sent me with Anakin Skywalker— my brother by blood of battle, my sworn brother by every scar we earned together— to chase a ghost through the alleys of Mos Espa, to hear the story of Nobot, that haunted droid they swear still walks the dark, and to dig into a killing back in Slave Quarters Row. You called it a mission. I called it a wound. Then you buried another order in the sand: quell the Tusken uprising, as if lives were numbers, as if civilians were acceptable losses, as if the dead were easier to count than to care for. I heard you. Every word. I heard the shape of your fear. [Bridge] Let me be plain. I do not swing a saber for your paperwork. I do not kneel to your language when it turns people into collateral. I fight with Djem So in my bones. I answer hard. I answer clean. I carry Vaapad when the dark comes close and thinks I’ll bend. And with Jar'Kai in both hands, I make a promise twice as fast as any lie you can vote into law. Red and blue. One for wrath. One for hope. And together they told the truth you did not want to hear: we finished the mission. Not by your book. By our duty. We protected the citizens of the galaxy. That was the job. That is the job. That will always be the job. So write your report. Twist your language. Call me insubordinate if it makes you feel tall. I am a Jedi Knight. I did my fucking work. And if that offends the Senate, then the Senate can choke on the difference between power and right. [Verse 2] I’m done with your chambers. Done with your ash-colored judgments. Done with men who never rode the wind over Tatooine telling warriors what mercy should cost. Anakin and I went in brothers. We came out more sure of it. So remember my name when you file this away: Xander Quinn. Not your servant. Not your symbol. Just the blade that stood between your people and the thing that wanted them broken. Now excuse me. I’ve got a galaxy to protect.
