Unpacking
**[Verse 1]** There’s a box in the closet, I don’t even know what's inside, Covered in dust and memories, I’ve pushed them all aside. Tucked away under the bed, where the shadows start to play, I lift the lid, take a peek, and close it right away. **[Chorus]** Why can’t I unpack these boxes? What am I afraid I’ll find? Is it just the weight of all these things, Or the weight inside my mind? I know they’re more than just old papers, Or trinkets I’ve outgrown, But each time I try to open up, I feel so alone. **[Verse 2]** Drawers full of tangled threads, of moments I’ve long forgot, Hidden away like secrets, in a mind that’s overwrought. Every box a metaphor, for something I can’t reach, Emotions I’ve compartmentalized, just beyond my speech. **[Bridge]** Maybe it’s not the boxes, maybe it’s what they represent, The pieces of a past I’ve buried, the pain that I’ve kept pent. If I start to sort through all these things, will I fall apart? Or is it just too much to bear, to uncover my own heart? **[Chorus]** Why can’t I unpack these boxes? What am I afraid I’ll find? Is it just the weight of all these things, Or the weight inside my mind? I know they’re more than just old papers, Or trinkets I’ve outgrown, But each time I try to open up, I feel so alone. **[Outro]** So I leave them where they are, safely out of sight, Hoping one day I’ll have the strength, to bring them to the light. But for now, they’ll stay packed away, and I’ll carry on, Trying to live around the boxes, until the weight is gone.
