[Verse 1] Why do we despise the dry and weary Where circumstance yields life so dreary We run from pain and suffering And find the chaos puzzling Our voices plead for our salvation The silence seen as condemnation But in the dark and void filled land We fail to sense Yeshua’s hand [Chorus] Steadfast in His faithfulness He calls for you to acquiesce To walk the paths of wilderness Where one will rest in blessedness [Verse 2] The Spirit guides to lands untamed The wilderness His will proclaimed In silence, thirst and dry despair Yahweh’s whispered voice is there He calls to trust provisions grace And catch a glimpse of glory’s face Consumed by fire in dust filled places These seasons are not but holy spaces [Chorus] Steadfast in His faithfulness He calls for you to acquiesce To walk the paths of wilderness Where one will rest in blessedness [Verse 3] Times of pruning, of painful growth Where Yahweh reminds us of His oath To purge the dross as gold refined Conform our souls, our hearts, our minds [instrumental] In love Jehovah leads us to The savage lands so we pursue The presence of Him who will sustain In midst of loss, in sorrows and pain [Chorus] Steadfast in His faithfulness He calls for you to acquiesce To walk the paths of wilderness Where one will rest in blessedness [outro] A life of ease is not your calling The narrow path we find appalling but in this space of wretchedness We encounter Yahweh’s peace and rest [end]
