Tanabata Night — July 7

CUSTOM

I ended up making two very different songs inspired by *Tanabata, Japan's Star Festival. The first one was a lo-fi hip-hop track where a fed-up Princess Orihime showed up in a tracksuit, throwing sarcastic bars. It was... entertaining, but the lyrics got a little too savage. So I went with this version instead. This arrangement is based on "Tanabata-sama," a traditional Japanese children's song. The original melody is just eight simple bars long. I first created a new melody with Milo-1080, then used it as the foundation, adding some jazzy chord changes while keeping the gentle atmosphere of the original. *Tanabata is a traditional Japanese festival known as the Star Festival, celebrated on July 7th.
