V4.5-ALL

[INTRO — FEMALE VOCAL, BRIGHT AND CONFIDENT] Welcome to Electrical, Come on in and take a look. I've got boxes on the shelves And every box has got a hook. [VERSE 1] Breaker boxes, junction boxes, Outlet boxes too, Switch boxes and cover plates, I've got just the thing for you. Metal boxes, plastic boxes, Single-gang and double, If it goes behind the wall, I'm ready for the trouble. I've been working here a long, long time, I've learned the stock by sight. Give me half a description And I'll probably get it right. [CHORUS — 1970s SOUL/FUNK GROOVE] Break it out the box, Break it out the box, Open up the carton, There's another box! Breaker box, junction box, Everything in place, If you need an electrical part, I've probably seen its face. [VERSE 2] Then came the appliances, And that made perfect sense. A dryer needs a power cord, A range needs one as well. “Three-prong or four-prong?” “Let's see what you've got.” “What's behind the appliance?” “Well, that's where we'll start.” A washer here, a dryer there, A range across the floor, You'd think I'd worked Appliances— But that's not what the sign says on the door. [CHORUS] Break it out the box, Break it out the box, Open up the carton, There's another box! I've got the parts you came to find, I've got them on the shelf, And if you don't know what you need, I'll help you find it out yourself. [BRIDGE — GROOVE SOFTENS] Then one day a fellow walked in With a question in his hand. [CUSTOMER — CASUAL] “Do you have a drill?” [FEMALE VOCAL] “Yes, but that's in Tools.” [CUSTOMER] “But it plugs in.” [FEMALE VOCAL] “Yes, it does.” [CUSTOMER] “So isn't that Electrical?” [FEMALE VOCAL — AMUSED] Well... That's one way of looking at it. [LIGHT ENSEMBLE LAUGHTER] [VERSE 3 — GROOVE RETURNS] Then came a circular saw, A sander and a drill, A shop vacuum rolling by— And somehow I'm involved still. “Do you have a charger?” “Do you have a cord?” “Do you have the battery?” I smile and point across the floor. [CUSTOMER] “But it uses electricity.” [FEMALE VOCAL] So does almost everything. [PAUSE] [CUSTOMER] “So it's Electrical?” [FEMALE VOCAL] Not exactly. [CHORUS — BIGGER] Break it out the box, Break it out the box, Breaker box and junction box, Open up the box! If it's going in the wall, You know where it belongs. If it's drilling through the wall... [ENSEMBLE] TOOLS! [FEMALE VOCAL] That's right. [FINAL VERSE — PLAYFUL] I've learned that here at GLOW, Things aren't always what they seem. The departments have their boundaries— At least that's what I used to think. A cord can mean Electrical, A cord can mean a dryer, A cord can mean a power tool— And now I'm getting wiser. So if you bring me something And ask me where it goes, I'll look it over carefully... And tell you what I know. [FINAL CHORUS — FULL 1970s ORCHESTRA] Break it out the box, Break it out the box! Breaker box and junction box, Open up the box! I've got the wires, I've got the parts, I've got the answers Right down to the charts. And if it plugs in— [ENSEMBLE] It might be Electrical! [FEMALE VOCAL] Might be. [ENSEMBLE] It might be Tools! [FEMALE VOCAL] Could be. [ENSEMBLE] Which department is it? [FEMALE VOCAL — LAUGHING] Depends what it does! [FINAL BRASS HIT] [FEMALE VOCAL — SPOKEN] Now... What kind of box did you say you needed?
