*LAID OFF and my LIGHT in the DARK*
I got laid off now, I’m confused and vexed, Trying to figure out what I am going to do next. A mortgage, a marriage, and kids in tow, With savings for support that seem way too low. Do I stay in my lane or stretch past the known? The job market’s changed, and I’m overthrown. I sit in silence, trying to see— How did this happen? How did it find me? SFG’s been for me, a light in the dark, Their volunteers and leaders igniting a spark. They’ve given me shelter and bit of His Grace, Honing my skills to win this race. Loneliness creeps in, discouragement, too, I’m taking a beating—know not what to do. I am trying to look but don’t know where, And age discrimination is definitely there. The search is so foreign, the silence so loud, Each rejection is thunder, and way too loud. I need His help, and can’t do this alone, He’s been waiting for me—to come back home. SFG’s been for me, a light in the dark, Their volunteers and leaders igniting a spark. They’ve given me shelter and bit of His Grace, Honing my skills to win this race. To get out of this mess, I need to listen and pray, And finally understand that He’s been guiding my way. First, mourn the loss—grieve what’s all gone bye, Let tears fall freely; let myself cry. Then lift my head, my sword and my shield, I know He has a purpose for me in this field. Resumay, LinkedIn, interviews skills, a must But, if you don’t network, you’ll be left in the dust. SFG’s been for me, a light in the dark, Their volunteers and leaders igniting a spark. They’ve given me shelter and bit of His Grace, Honing my skills to win this race. And now-I’ve landed, it seemed like forever, As I journeyed this job search land endeavor. My family and friends have stood by me, Helping me land, it’s not if but when, as you see. This isn’t the end, it's just a Do Over. I'm walking with God, with His Grace as my cover, I’ll sow His seeds—let His Love abide, And, help others like me, on this same ride.
