Higher Still [NDC Bingo E5, Shelley Rewrite]

[Instrumental intro] [Verse 1] Hail to thee, blithe spirit, bird ye never were. High above our sorrow, singin’ bright and clear. [Chorus] Higher still, higher still, singin’ as ye rise. Higher still, higher still, lost among the skies. [Instrumental interlude] [Verse 2] We look before and after, we pine for what is not. Your song is all unshadowed; ours is joy and hurt. [Verse 3] Teach my heart your gladness, teach my voice your fire. Let my song awaken all the world’s desire. [Bridge] Teach me half your music, half your silver fire. [Instrumental interlude] [Final Chorus] Higher still, higher still, singin’ as ye rise. Higher still, higher still, lift me to the skies. Higher still, higher still, song beyond desire. [Instrumental crescendo and outro]
