The Great Eagles Flight

STUDIO

[Intro] Bilbo: Flames Below and Talons above! It appears the noise has drawn the attention of Giant Eagles!! Oh, we’re doomed now for sure! Bombor!!! Don’t let me fall!!! Oh what a day today has already been I don’t believe it’s even lunch yet And my energy is drawing too thin And If they let go, I’d land on that rock I bet… Oh but where will they take us if they don't let go? Oh, Bother... Think those happy thoughts Bilbo! Eggs and Bacon, and a sit on my stair A nice cup of tea, and Clean Silverware Bombor, hold onto your belt tight, If you slip, I’ll lose my grip — I’d never survive from such a height My whole life ending in one tumbling flip. Muffins and Tea with a brightly polished spoon, A morning free of sudden fright — Not swooping through the afternoon Like a lost and wind-blown kite. Oh my heavens it’s as bad as I though They’re bringing us to their roost I know it, of their lunch we’ll all be torn and wrought!!! I’d almost return to my fate on the burning spruce The wind grows colder as the cliffs rise, The Eagles circle with commanding cries. Their talons loosen, their wings withdraw, And down we’re set on ledges raw — High crags of stone where the air bites, And goblins dare not climb the heights. Gandalf: Lord of Eagles! Lord of Eagles: I shall never forget the wizard that saved me from that arrow and that nursed me to health at risk of his own peril. You stir the mountains with your plight, Grey Wanderer — what brings you here? Fire and goblins filled the night; We saw your peril, sharp and clear. Gandalf: Our road is long, our trials grim, And fortune fled us in the wood. Yet thanks we give to you and kin For bearing us from where we stood. Lord of Eagles: Rest awhile upon our crags, You are safe beneath our wings. At dawn we’ll bear you past the snags And set you near Mirkwood rivers’ springs. Bilbo: Oh bless them all, these feathered kings… Though I’d prefer my feet on earth. Oh for tarts and safety, and other simple things — I’d trade a kingdom for their simple worth.
