What Occupies Your Thoughts? Verse 1 Tell me what occupies your thoughts. Is it rent? Is it lunch? Or any other meal? Is it work? Is it play? Is it simply That time of day? How do you choose Which thought to action, Which can be delayed? Which one becomes tomorrow, And which one fades away? Verse 2 Is it fear? Is it concern? Is it shame Or something worse? Is there something You want me to hear? Is it love? Is it truth? Is it something You have carried Since your youth? Is it anger? Is it pain? An old memory Playing over again? Is it hope? Is it doubt? Is there something inside Trying to find its way out? Pre-Chorus Some thoughts whisper. Some thoughts shout. Some arrive before we know What they are about. Some deserve attention. Some deserve release. But how do you decide Which ones become belief? Chorus Which thoughts do you feed? Which ones do you starve? Which ones become your future? Why? Which ones keep you awake? Which ones make you smaller? Which ones help you grow? Why? And which thoughts came from you… And which were planted there? Why? Verse 3 Is it something someone told you Long before you understood? Something you were taught was wrong, Something labelled bad or good? Did you choose that thought yourself, Or inherit someone’s view? Does it still belong inside you? Does it still belong to you? Is it habit? Is it fear? Is it simply repetition Whispered year after year? Bridge You cannot stop each thought arriving. Some will knock. Some will shout. Some will walk straight through the doorway Before you figure them out. But a thought is not an order. A thought is not your fate. You can sit with it. Question it. Challenge it. Or simply let it wait. So before you give it power, Before you let it steer… Ask yourself one little question: Why is this thought here? Breakdown Who benefits When you are frightened? Who benefits When you feel small? Who benefits When you stop questioning? Who benefits When you believe You have no choice at all? Why? Final Chorus Which thoughts do you feed? Which ones do you starve? Which ones become your future? Why? Which ones open doors? Which ones build a wall? Which ones bring you closer To the person you could be? Which ones keep you chained To who you thought you had to be? Why? Outro Tell me what occupies your thoughts. Notice them. Question them. Choose which ones deserve a home. And every now and then… Ask yourself: Why?
