At times, you may find yourself lamenting how fate toys with us, how life so often falls short of our hopes. But isn’t that what life is—woven with its many imperfections? Who hasn’t, in their past or present, faced hardship in one form or another? Without the pain we’ve endured and the setbacks we’ve braved, would we still be who we are today? Of course, we don’t seek out suffering. But once it becomes part of our story, perhaps the wiser path is to learn to make peace with it. More often than not, we cannot fully grasp the depths of another person’s heart. Still, what we can offer is a little more empathy, a little more patience, and a little more grace. These things, of course, must flow both ways. May we all learn to be at peace with ourselves, and to live more gently with the world around us. And as we face both the known and the unknown chapters ahead, may we carry with us a calm and hopeful heart. Thank you for listening. ————————————————— Fate always plays its quiet games, The more you chase, the more it strays. But once you learn to let it be, It softly knocks, unexpectedly. The door was open, Someone stepped inside. He claimed he had nothing to say, Dropped a book of scattered rhymes, And turned away. You’re guarding the dreams you hold dear, You’re chasing shadows no one else can see. You’ve noticed truths you’d rather not touch, So you simply let them be. You still hold the hearts once gathered, Yet watch it weather into dust. You’ve done no wrong, and still carry silence, weight, and trust. When bitterness begins to bloom, The world loses some of its grace. Still, it remains this world we know, Imperfect, but honest to face. You try to lay your bias down, Make peace instead of plead your case. A kindred tie should never bind, And kindness deserves an open place. We’re softer than we like to show, Hurt by what no one ever knows. And when the strong facade is torn, Whose heart has not been bruised and worn? So many doors we’ve walked right past, So many names we didn’t ask. But something lingers in the air A trace of kindness that was there. The book of fate may hang above, Its pages inked in stars and dust. But still, the future’s in your hands, If grace is given, then walk with trust. ————————————————— These lyrics are written and owned by Rachel’s Original (Rachel Liu).
