[Intro: Bright Guitar Skank, Organ Bubble, Bass Groove] Oh Father... [Verse 1: Lead, warm morning prayer] Father, let the light of Sunday Stream down through all the days of the week Let Sunday's blessings overflow Like water from a great fountain Like water from a fountain May all the week be holier Brighter, sweeter, purer, happier Therefor, happier therefor [Chorus: Full Choir, uplifting] Let Sunday stream down into Monday Into the common days, into common days Let Your light shine through our labor Holier, brighter, for Your glory [Verse 2: Lead, more drive, work anthem] We address ourselves now again To toil and conflict, toil and conflict We had our day of rest, now we hear the call Six days shall you labor, calling us afield Help us shake off all sloth, Lord Make us diligent, earnest, faithful Save us from indolence, half-heartedness Whatever our hands find to do We will do it with our might [Bridge: Choir chant, determined] Time is short and ever shortening We will redeem every moment from waste Give it something worthy, for eternity Diligent in business, with energy With carefulness, with all the skill To please You, to please You [Chorus 2: Big, best week ever] Help us make this a profitable week The best we have ever lived A week of usefulness, a week of growth A week of education, a week of love Serving each other and our fellows Serving for You [Verse 3: Stripped down, honest prayer] Forgive us all our sins, we beseech You Make us conscious of our need Our constant need of cleansing Let no iniquity gain dominion over us Subdue in us all evil desires Restore unto us, restore unto us The joy of Your salvation [Final Chorus: Send-off, full band joyful] Send us out today as Your messengers Carrying comfort and life to others Doing errands for You, a blessing to many Give us a profitable day, Lord Bring us together at its close In peace and love, in peace and love [Outro: Soft fade] We ask in Jesus precious name Amen, Amen
