[Verse] The day I got saved I felt a light Jesus held me close he held me tight He whispered low it’s time to start Time to clean the corners of your heart [Prechorus] He took my hand showed me the way Kneel and let your burdens sway [Chorus] Jesus held me close oh he held me near He wiped my doubts he calmed my fear Every sin swept away no chains to bind Jesus held me close now peace is mine [Verse 2] The altar glowed with a holy flame He called my soul he called my name I knelt right down my tears ran free And left behind the weight on me [Bridge] He said child your past is gone Step into grace where you belong Feel the calmness feel the release Walk in love walk in peace [Chorus] Jesus held me close oh he held me near He wiped my doubts he calmed my fear Every sin swept away no chains to bind Jesus held me close now peace is mine
