Everybody talks like I’m already gone Laughing in the kitchen while I hold the wall I say one thing They cut across Like my name never mattered at all I wear my grin like a cardboard sign Hoping somebody reads between the lines But every room Feels paper thin And nobody ever lets me in I keep showing up I keep staying late Just hoping somebody asks if I’m okay Would anybody notice if my chair stayed clean? If my phone stayed quiet for a couple weeks? I keep reaching out with both hands wide Just once I wanna feel picked first tonight I’m tired of fading beside everybody else Tired of carrying this all by myself If I vanished out beyond those city streets Would anybody notice me? Would anybody notice me? I learned real young how to stay polite How to shrink myself so nobody fights Now every word Gets locked away Like I was born just to take up space I watch my friends light up for everyone new While I stand there trying not to look hurt too They say “you’re good” They say “you’re fine” But they never really read my eyes I keep showing up I keep staying late Still nobody asks if I’m okay Would anybody notice if my chair stayed clean? If my phone stayed quiet for a couple weeks? I keep reaching out with both hands wide Just once I wanna feel picked first tonight I’m tired of fading beside everybody else Tired of carrying this all by myself If I vanished out beyond those city streets Would anybody notice me? I don’t need saving I don’t need gold I just want somebody who won’t let go Somebody honest Somebody warm Somebody who sees me walk through the door Would anybody notice if I stopped calling first? If I finally admitted just how much this hurts? I spent my whole life begging to be seen Like love belonged to everybody but me I’m tired of fading beside everybody else Tired of carrying this all by myself If I vanished out beyond those city streets Would anybody notice me? Would anybody notice me?
