🌿 The Self-Compassion Practice A guided meditation
Take a slow breath in… and let it go. Again… inhale gently… and exhale fully. Let your body arrive. No effort. No performance. Just being here. Now bring to mind something that feels hard. A moment… a mistake… a place where the inner critic has been loud. Notice what it is saying. You should have done better. That was not enough. You messed that up. Pause. Not to argue. Not to fix. Just to see clearly: This voice is not motivating you. It is protecting you. And in doing so… it tightens… it pressures… it puts your body into survival. So first… we step out of that. Gently. Take a breath… This is a moment of suffering. Feel into your body… Where do you feel it? Chest… belly… throat… This hurts. No minimizing. No pretending you are fine. Just truth. Now gently widen your awareness… Suffering is part of life. Not just your life. Life. Every human being has felt this. Failure. Doubt. Not enoughness. I am not alone. I am human. Now bring one hand to your heart… or anywhere your body wants to be held. Ask yourself: What would I say to someone I love in this moment? Let the words come… It is okay. You are doing your best. I am here with you. You do not have to carry this alone. Now offer those same words… to yourself. Let them land. Not in your mind… but in your body. Feel what happens… A softening. A deeper breath. A small opening. This is not weakness. This is your nervous system shifting out of survival and into care. Here… you can learn. You can create. You can try again. Not because you forced yourself… But because you are no longer at war with yourself. Let the inner critic step back. Not gone… but no longer leading. And in its place… a quieter voice emerges. You are allowed to be human. You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to begin again. Take one final breath in… and exhale slowly. may the kindness you offer yourself be the place where you rise.
