I need to tell you the story the horse named Joe who never gave up And the rescuer Laura who seeing though he was down he would drink though he was emaciated he would eat So she hand fed him as he lay there and gave him water as he greatfully lapped swallowed it down his body so thin You would have been sure he was dead but he moved... But see he moved and that was the clue to the poor workman that discovered him Locked up in a stall down on his side alone, without food or water emaciated, starved on purpose a human behind it.. a human behind it a human behind it... left to die The workman called the police and the police called animal control Laura the miracle horse rescuer called after all Laura works tirelessly you see rescuing horses and dogs and chicken, goats pigs a menagerie There is even a Blue Macaw that yells out her name on Golden Hearts Rescue Thats the place Miracles there So Laura called in her crew Her volunteers who know what to do and they got poor Joe upright and out of there Straps and heave ho Back to rescue and strapped up with care Refeed, hydrate, vet check All that a 1200 animal should not weigh 850 It was quite the fight to save Joes life His body ready to give up the light But he kept responding to urging and like a champ that liver chestnut with urine burns and hip bones poking out of his hide made it through at last Its Laura I tell you she is the secret sauce the hoarse whisperer of 2AM What I have not told you is Joe isn't the only one that had it rough Laura lost the love of her life a year ago in his truck A head on accident claimed Micah that day and Its given her a rough and lonely road to climb away We know Micah visits lots of signs So should you make it out to Apple Valley California, a desert ranchers paradise Stop on by for a photobomb with the menagerie And consider droppin Laura some cash she needs to buy a lock for her fridge those darn rescue dogs break in often and steal her dinner its sad!
