(Translation: “Tarhunna’s breath, wind of force, / Greater than the mountain, brilliant in sky. / Flame in the clouds, he burns desire, / Ancient god, the stars obey him.”) [Chant 1] Tessimi Tarḫunnaš, šulink-zi! Šiuš nēpis, andan aranzi. LUGAL nepiš, DINGIR kurur. (Translation: “Hear Tarhunna, rise in might! / His breath is wind, flowing below. / King of wind, god of mountains.”) [Verse 2] Zūkk-zi ḫatraš, šaššanz kanik, palhiš EGIR, ḫulli zēr. Tarkummēliš dāi šiuš, kāru išḫuwaš antuwāi. (Translation: “He strikes with flame, in thunder’s mouth, / Behind him chaos, before him seeds. / Stormborn god gives wind, / And speaks through ancient fire.”) [Chant 2] Zānki Tarḫunna, LUGAL šarā, Šulink-zi, mēni pāi! Tēpu kuennanza, tarmaš DINGIR. (Translation: “Mighty Tarhunna, king of sky, / Rise now, come to us! / Burning thunder, towering god.”) [Verse 3] Ammuk ḫaliya, ḫanda LUḪUŠ, nu nēpis LUGALš DINGIRš. (Translation: “I call to you, in shadow of blood, / Breath of the lord and god. / He leads through chaos, gives flame to truth, / Tarhunna’s fire grants visions.”) [Chant 3] Nēpis watarnu, DINGIR pāi, Ḫatraš LUGAL, Tarḫunna mītū.
