Once upon a time… When I was five, I asked the stars and the sky why I came to be; When I was eight, I waltzed with the fairies in their woodland realms; When I was twelve, I perceived the eyes that birthed only tear drops. When I was thirteen, I pondered the One Tree silhouette And, in the twilight, I traced its infinite wonders. The journey of my life was solitary, but I was never alone. It was filled with shadows, but I never felt hopeless. Nestled in the crook of its arm, it flew me beyond the stars To a mystical place only we can regard— A shimmering Citadel among the azure mountains Hidden within the hazy, grey mists… Where there awaited the whispered Dream Of an enduring, sacred Love. When I was fifteen, I recited poetry beneath the moon's light And sent my soul spiraling up to the soaring cosmos. When I was seventeen, I fell in love with the shining Knight Of a thousand and one pages. When I was twenty, I escaped the closed walls Only to find myself at the Tower beyond. I climbed the Tower only to witness the falling of the stars. When I was no longer young, I realized that it was only All summer in a day— This journey of my life (journey of my life). This journey of my life (journey of my life). When time was no more, I crossed the wobbling bridge of wooden planks To the other side, to level ground and a new place, a new scape; This was when I spread my wings to soar in glorious freedom. And she lived happily ever after…
