The Gift They Can’t Grasp

V5

They stare at the gift, but they never unwrap it, The box says “grace,” but pride won’t have it. They’d rather climb ladders, build Babel, grab it, But the cross cut through their works, now they can’t hack it. They think “free” means “fake,” they can’t compute, Tryna fit God’s favor in a worldly suit. They want credit, not truth — they want fruit without root, They hate the gift ‘cause it don’t salute. Heaven said “believe,” they said “prove,” He said “it’s done,” they said “move.” They talk merit — God talks remove, He canceled debt — they talk improve. They don’t get it — that’s the Pharaoh mind, Hardened heart, can’t see the divine. Moses spoke, but they missed the sign, The blood on the door ain’t just a line. It’s finished — still they try to amend, They patch up grace with religious trends. Man-made steps that never ascend, They talk repentance, but pride won’t bend. They read the Word, but they filter the verse, They preach grace, but twist it in reverse. Say “you’re saved,” then hand out a curse, Add law to life like it reimbursed. Free grace scares the ones still chained, They love control, they hate uncontained. They like religion, ‘cause it’s self-named, But grace dethrones — can’t be framed. That’s why the proud keep callin’ it fraud, ‘Cause they don’t trust mercy — they wanna be God. They’d rather be judge with a holy façade, Than bow to the Lamb who broke that rod. It’s crazy, they preach what they don’t believe, Talk love, but they never receive. Talk faith, but they never relieve, Their hearts stuck tight — they can’t perceive. The Spirit moves, but they call it “strange,” Say “free gift,” they say “that’s deranged.” But it’s pride — disguised and arranged, Hardened hearts don’t like exchange. See, grace ain’t blind — it just ain’t biased, Law kills fast, but mercy’s the quietest. They think God’s soft, but He’s the highest, Killed death itself — the truest Messiah-ist. So when I say “Free Grace,” don’t flinch, Don’t twist words, don’t play bench. The gospel ain’t broke, don’t need a wrench, He gave it all — no law trench. Yo, they argue, “you gotta prove you’re saved,” But I say, “He proved it — tomb’s the grave.” You talk evidence — I talk pave, Cross made the path that my soul craved. You talk performance, I talk bloodline, You talk effort — I talk divine. You talk judgment — I talk sign, You talk chains — I talk resign. Pharaoh watched truth in ten plagues roar, Still said, “Nah, I’m good,” like before. That’s the heart that hates restore, Blind by pride — can’t see the door. And that’s how grace works in the crowd, It’s loud and clear, but hearts too proud. They’d rather earn it — not be endowed, But heaven don’t split checks, no vows. See, grace don’t ask for your grind, It asks for surrender — renew your mind. It’s mercy’s flood, not works combined, It’s God’s own love that redefined. They can’t grasp what they can’t own, They can’t trust what ain’t their throne. But grace don’t beg, it stands alone, Blood bought, cornerstone. They mock, they twist, they rage, they frown, They call it weak, they tear it down. But the King still wears that thorny crown, And heaven don’t revoke — no bound. So let ‘em talk, let ‘em call it fake, Let ‘em boast in what they make. But the ones who rest in His sake, Know grace don’t bend — it breaks the snake. Free grace ain’t scandal — it’s proof divine, The world’s offended, that’s by design. They hate a love that won’t align, With their pride — that’s serpentine. But we preach Christ, no add-on clause, No “if you do,” no “holy laws.” It’s finished — that’s the pause, Free Grace forever — heaven’s cause.
