// Love You to the Cross // Lyrics © 2025 Joshua Sloan // Kindness Matters Music Productions [Verse 1] I've seen the anger, I've seen the fight When truth gets twisted, it don't shine bright But faith's not a weapon we throw like a stone It's mercy and kindness that call us home [Chorus] It's better to love you to the cross Than to count your heart lost The gift was given, not to shame But to lift us up and heal the pain So I'll hold you close, not cast you off I'd rather love you to the cross [Verse 2] I've seen the weary with tired eyes Carrying heartache, carrying lies But love never pushes, it pulls you near It whispers of hope till the doubt disappears [Bridge – Call & Response] Love is stronger! (Stronger than hate!) Love is freedom! (It opens the gate!) Love is healing! (Healing for all!) Love picks us up (When we fall!) [Double Chorus – Big & Soaring] It's better to love you to the cross Than to count your heart lost The gift was given, not to shame But to lift us up and heal the pain So I'll hold you close, not cast you off I'd rather love you to the cross It's better to love you to the cross Than to count your heart lost The gift was given, not to shame But to lift us up and heal the pain So I'll hold you close, not cast you off I'd rather love you to the cross [Outro] I'll hold you close, not cast you off I'll love you to the cross
