Sweet Caffeine Rollercoaster
Mm… Alarm screaming again Sun already breaking in One eye open One eye dead Coffee machine inside my head Where my keys? Where my socks? Why my life feel lost at dawn? I woke up I slept I woke up again Meeting call Stand-up talk Tryna act like I’m okay then Little food Splash of coffee Tell myself I got this, probably Clock say move Brain say no Still somehow I gotta go Running late Hair a mess Mind buffering under stress Where my keys? Where my socks? Why my brain still half unlocked? Need caffeine Need that rush Need my heartbeat turned back on One more sip Maybe two Tell myself “just push it through” Sweet caffeine rollercoaster Take me high then drag me over Wake me up Break me down Still somehow I’m coffee-bound Sweet caffeine rollercoaster Life move fast but I move slower Crash at night Wake too soon Still chasing sleep till afternoon Mm… another coffee… Mm… maybe one more… That’s how I roll That’s how I stay awake I drank three coffees yesterday Brain said “sleep?” then ran away Two A.M. still staring wide Thoughts doing laps inside my mind Five A.M. my eyes pop open Seven sleep like fate was joking Eight again Back alive Running on survival drive I stalk the coffee machine After every meeting Every hour Every floor Like my life support breathing It’s every hour Every day Same old ride Same old ache Don’t ask me How I cope Little caffeine Little hope Sweet caffeine rollercoaster Take me high then drag me over Crash all day Rise all night Still pretending I’m alright Sweet caffeine rollercoaster Kinda hurts but getting closer It’s just a ride… Yeah maybe so… But coffee never let me go Mm… One more coffee… Then I’ll sleep… Probably…
