“When the Snow Falls Soft Tonight” (Verse 1) I see the sun goes down so slowly As I walk this silent road Snow has fallen through the day Still falling, soft and cold My footsteps carve the frozen street No plow has passed this way The world is wrapped in quiet white A holy kind of day (Verse 2) Warm lights are shining in the windows Every tree in silver dressed A single snowflake on my nose It makes me laugh, I rest The only sound is winter’s song Beneath my steady feet A gentle, sacred stillness Where heaven and earth meet (Chorus) Oh, hush now, hear the wonder Let your heart be still For love was born in silence In a simple little barn Beyond the gifts and candlelight The greatest gift we find Is Jesus, born one Christmas night For all of humankind (Verse 3) Smoke is rising from the chimneys Homes are warm with glowing cheer The fourth light soon will be burning Christmas Eve is near Time stands still for just a moment As children gather round Eyes of joy and expectation Where grace is wrapped and found Bridge The scent of Christmas fills the air Our senses come alive But greater than all earthly gifts Is hope that never dies Final Chorus Oh, hush now, hear the wonder Let your heart believe For God came down in fragile form So we could all be free Beyond the stars, beyond the night A promise true and bright Is Jesus, born in Bethlehem That blessed Christmas night Outro (soft) When the snow falls soft tonight Love has come to stay
