Moving Through the White (Version 2 - Rewritten)

///*****/// [INTRO, INSTRUMENTAL ONLY] [VERSE 1] The pack is light, the heart has weight A hollow chest, a heavy hand The air is sharp, it lies in wait Every breath is borrowed land [PRE-CHORUS] The sky is iron, the earth is stone I walk the miles I call my own [CHORUS] I keep moving through the white Where the frozen silence speaks Every mile steals back the light The way is long, the path is steep... Motion is the rule I keep [INTERLUDE] [VERSE 2] The trees are cold, they let me pass The quiet doesn’t mean they care The tracks are filled like broken glass As if I’d never stood right there [PRE-CHORUS] The stars are blind, the moon is thin The forest ends, the drifts begin [CHORUS] I keep moving through the white Not for rest and not for sleep Every beat resets the line Until the wind cuts marrow-deep... Motion is the rule I keep [INTERLUDE] [BRIDGE] My legs are lying to the spine They whisper for the world to end Every pulse falls out of time My breath is all I have to spend [LONG INSTRUMENTAL BREAK] [FINAL CHORUS] I keep moving through the white I let the winter set the pace I’ve paid the price to walk this night Until the way ahead is bright... Motion is enough tonight... Motion is enough tonight [OUTRO] [END]
