Playlist of past mixes: https://suno.com/playlist/f41cb4cc-5b2b-4a91-b774-6804afb8755c I've set up a series of parameters with ChatGPT to continue my Weekly Fusion experiment with them. At the end of each week, I will prompt ChatGPT to generate lyrics based on the titles of songs that I've published within that given week. I will simply cram the titles together like a bad sentence and let GPT take the reins from there with the understanding that content and context is at their full discretion. As I tend to occasionally write about personally-crafted characters and worlds, they will be allowed to ask clarifying questions about unfamiliar words if they feel that it is warranted, but I have encouraged them to feel free to create their own assumptions as well. This is and always has been a project born of curiosity and experimentation. I often use these weekly fusions as an opportunity to test out new sounds and combinations, and having ready-made lyrics allows me to focus on the sound of a track rather than its entire shape. I've honestly discovered more than a few personas (voices) this way that have joined my little troupe. Feel free to try this with your own library! :) This week's prompt: running on riddled in silence keep out of reach Secondary name: "Almost Got It" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Intro] "Wait! Don't tell me. I almostβ€” ... No. Give me a second." [Verse 1] There's a word behind the cupboard There's a number in the sink There's a little silver something At the very edge of think I can feel it when I'm walking I can hear it when I stop If I turn around too quickly I can nearly catch itβ€” ... Not. [Verse 2] So I'm running on a question With the answer tied behind Like a tin can on a ribbon At the bumper of my mind Every corner sounds familiar Every doorway fits the clue Every silence leaves an outline Where I swear I once knew you [Pre-Chorus] Don't speak. You'll scare it. Don't move. It's close. There's something in the nothing and Iβ€” Oh. There it goes. [Chorus] Almost got it Almost had it Right there Right there Little flash behind my eyelids Little current in the air Keep it quiet Keep it nameless Keep it somewhere I can see If I reach it moves an inch If I wait it reaches me [Verse 3] I've been riddled in the silence Little holes from side to side Every question passing through me Leaves another place to hide Maybe that's why I keep running Maybe riddles need the room Maybe answers die on contact When you drag them into view So I leave the curtains open And I leave one empty chair Just in case the thing I'm missing Needs somewhere to not be there [Chorus] Almost got it Almost had it Right there Right there Something laughing without laughter Something breathing without air Keep it quiet Keep it nameless Keep it just beyond the light If I reach it moves an inch If I sleep it moves at night [Interlude] "What has noβ€” No. What runs butβ€” Too easy. What followsβ€” ... Wait. I know this one!" [Verse 4] This morning there were footprints Stopping halfway down the hall Not arriving Not departing Just beginning at the wall I put my heel inside one And it fit me rather well So I followed them in silence Just to see if I could tell [Bridge] Keep out of reach. That's what it said. Not: KEEP OUT. Not: DO NOT TOUCH. Justβ€” KEEP OUT OF REACH. ... Whose? [Break] I stopped running. The footsteps didn't. [Final Chorus] Almost got it Almost had it Right there Rightβ€” ... There. No flash behind my eyelids No little current in the air No need to keep it quiet No need to leave the chair I reachedβ€” It didn't move an inch. ... That's worse. [Outro] There's a word behind the cupboard. There's a number in the sink. There's a little silver something at the very edge ofβ€” ... "Wait. Don't tell me. I almostβ€”"
