NightViper:Eyes On The Straight

V6

EYES ON THE STRAIGHT [INTRO — low engine hum / distant highway / slow analog pulse] VIPER: Eyes forward. No. All the way forward. You keep looking beside you to see who's passing. Behind you to see who's watching. And somewhere in all that looking— you stopped watching the road. [pause] That's how people miss exits. That's how they drift into lanes they never intended to enter. That's how somebody else's speed starts determining theirs. Listen carefully. You are not behind because someone passed you. You are not failing because somebody arrived first. And you do not need to change your destination because another road looks faster from where you're sitting. [soft electronic pulse] There is a stretch of road where nothing exciting happens. No applause. No announcement. No visible breakthrough. Just miles. That stretch is where most people start doubting themselves. They turn around. Take an exit they never wanted. Start chasing somebody else's headlights. Anything to feel like they're moving. But the Viper knows— movement and direction are not the same thing. [pause] So check your coordinates. Not theirs. Yours. Where did you say you were going? What did you say you were building? What did you decide before everybody else's life became visible to you? There. That's your straight. [engine deepens] Now hold it. When somebody wins— congratulate them. Hold the straight. When somebody doubts you— let them. Hold the straight. When nothing happens for longer than you expected— keep driving. Hold. The. Straight. Because discipline is not always doing more. Sometimes discipline is refusing to turn. [brief silence] And one day the scenery changes. The road opens. The thing you've been building quietly starts producing loudly. People call it sudden. You know better. You remember every mile where there was nothing to see. Every night you kept moving without proof. Every exit you refused because it wasn't yours. [analog pulse begins accelerating] So stop checking the rearview mirror for people who are no longer traveling with you. Stop racing cars that aren't going where you're going. Stop treating somebody else's arrival like evidence of your delay. Hands steady. Foot down. Eyes forward. Your destination does not require their timetable. [pause] VIPER: Eyes on the straight. Proceed. [engine accelerates into distance / synth fades]
