You Were Already Inside [SSC8 Sample Challenge]

[Intro – original sample distant, filtered, like underwater memory] you hear it first not as sound more like pressure behind your eyes like something pulling without touching [Verse 1] you tried to name it so it would shrink a thought a mistake something left over but it doesn’t stay still it moves without asking [Pre-Chorus] there is no moment where it begins no point where you lose it you were never before it [Chorus – slow, heavy, recognizable melodic reference] under your skin something is awake not foreign just quiet for too long you call it an echo because you hope it fades but it doesn’t [Drop – psy pulse, broken sample fragments] (sample chop: stretched breath, fragmented tone) no outside no before just deeper just closer [Verse 2] you notice it when things get quieter not louder not stronger just clearer the world outside goes flat and what remains is the pull [Bridge – stripped, intimate, almost whispered] when you stop really stop you hear it it didn’t come to you it was already there before you asked [Final Chorus – fuller, heavier] under your skin it carries you further no resistance no direction you look for yourself but find something that has known you for a long time [Outro – original sample clearer, haunting callback] you hear it first very quiet but this time you recognize it and it recognizes you back
