TV 008 – The Godengine | The Torn Void
(Verse 1) Before the maps could name it, before first empires rose, The Godengine lay waiting where no clean answer shows. The Precursors reached toward it with their star-forging hand, And destiny learned machinery beneath their last command. (Verse 2) The Breach was torn wide open where forbidden wells were drawn, And Angels judged their makers as the old bright age was gone. It may have sealed the ending, it may have caused the fall, For every archive trembles when it tries to name it all. (Chorus) The Godengine is breathing at the heart of night, A buried crown of questions in the fractured light. No throne can safely claim it, no prayer can make it clear, And every faction hears it as the shape of hope and fear. (Verse 3) The Accord hears Prime Law in its hidden central flame, The Synod seeks the proof that might rewrite reality’s name. The Hegemony tastes immortal blood beneath its seal, The Dominion hears a prison where the first locks start to peel. (Verse 4) The Lunars dream a Kinth chained beneath the stars, The Hunters fear a weapon sealed beyond all mortal bars. Its Shards awake in silence, its pulses stir old signs, And Navigators tremble at the bending of the lines. (Chorus) The Godengine is breathing at the heart of night, A buried crown of questions in the fractured light. No throne can safely claim it, no prayer can make it clear, And every faction hears it as the shape of hope and fear. (Bridge) It is not Breach or Fracture, though both its shadows know, The older wound and later wound around its silence grow. It may be god or engine, prison, wound, or key, The answer none may master and the truth none safely see. (Outro) So still the shattered galaxy keeps watch around its core, As every guarded prophecy goes knocking at its door. If it should wake completely, all crowns and laws may fall, And reality may answer what it should not ask at all.
