Mal Discontent (Theatric - Best)
[INTRO — town ambience, low glitch hum] …you ever notice they all jump before they talk? Welcome back, hero. Try not to swing this time. [VERSE 1] I’ve been standing here a long time. Long enough to see patterns. They walk in glowing, fresh save file confidence, then immediately press the wrong button. One loaf of bread. One mis-click. Sword out in the bakery. I said “no hostile actions in town.” They said “oops.” Next thing I know, the baker’s screaming, the guards are screaming, the chickens are screaming— —and the entire village enters combat stance. Including Timmy. Timmy. Fever. Crutch. Six hit points. Yeah. Timmy charged first. [NPC CHORUS — distant, flat] FOR JUSTICE! FOR BREAD! FOR TIMMY! [CHORUS] They save the realm, then steal the forks. They open every crate, even the empty ones. They ask for lore, then skip the text. Spin in circles during funerals. Heroes are strange. Heroes are brave. Heroes will absolutely break every vase. [VERSE 2] I watched one stack chairs on the king’s head. Said it was “for science.” They jumped behind the throne for forty minutes looking for secrets. There were none. I told them there were none. Still jumped. Still convinced. Do not ask me about the goat incident. I am tired. [PRE-CHORUS] They test the edges of everything. The map. The rules. The tone. Including me. [CHORUS] They min-max grief, speedrun love, loot a shrine, then cry it’s bugged. They crouch repeatedly to say “hello.” Carry seventeen swords and no plan. Heroes are chaos. Heroes are fate. Heroes will wait three hours to open the wrong gate. [BRIDGE — quieter, reflective] Sometimes they just… stand there. Not clicking. Not moving. Just staring through me. That’s when they went AFK. I reset. Like I always do. They come back later and act like nothing happened. [BREAKDOWN — chant, NPC bark texture] QUEST ACCEPTED! QUEST FAILED! QUEST ACCEPTED! QUEST FAILED! They tried to swim to the sun once. Drowned. Reloaded. Tried again. [FINAL CHORUS] They’ll save the world by mistake. They’ll destroy it for a hat. They’ll call it immersion. I’ll call it Tuesday. Heroes are loud. Heroes are lost. Heroes will reload to undo the cost. [OUTRO — town loop fades] Next quest starts in five… four… three… Click me. Or don’t. I’ll be here.
