[Verse 1] I found a ticket in my jeans Bent up by the laundromat You were laughing at the screen Said, “Let’s scratch it, why not that?” Blue paint on the corner store Cherry gum on your front tooth Eight more bucks and a little more We could chase a lucky truth [Pre-Chorus] Hold it up to the light Tell me what you see Is it gold or just a spark That’s looking back at me? [Chorus] Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while Lottery ticket smile You make the whole town switch styles One small chance One wild grin Spin it back Let the day begin Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while [Verse 2] Paper cut on your thumb Dust on the counter edge You said winners take their turn So I leaned right on the ledge [Verse 2 continued] The clerk rang up two coffees We both missed the numbers first Then you kissed me, quick and crooked Like you knew the best part was worse [Pre-Chorus] Hold it up to the light Tell me what you see Is it gold or just a spark That’s looking back at me? [Chorus] Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while Lottery ticket smile You make the whole town switch styles One small chance One wild grin Spin it back Let the day begin Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while [Bridge] Maybe luck is just your face When you say my name Maybe I don’t need the prize If I get this game [Final Chorus] Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while Lottery ticket smile You make the whole town switch styles One small chance One wild grin Spin it back Let the day begin Lottery ticket smile Hold that luck for a while
