[Intro: spoken over vinyl-textured drums] [Low close voice. Sparse chopped break, one short soul-vocal sample answering between phrases..] Same code. New price. One, two— [Verse 1: two rappers trading every two lines] [Voice A: low chest-driven projection. Voice B: higher nasal bite. Hard breakbeat, compact kick, dry cracking snare and clipped bass.] [One recurring pitched soul-vocal chop answers in the gaps. Tight cutoff, no overlap with rap lines.] [Voice A] Never changed my principles, just raised the asking price, Now the ones who used to preach ask me for advice. [Voice B] They said, “Keep it simple”—I got harder to control, Now my quietest punch puts their weak demos full of holes. [Voice A] My boy got a new G-Class, same block inside his head, My exes found a brand-new crowd, same old shit gets said. [Voice B] She said, “You changed”—nah, I just got some room to breathe. (Ha!) When you can buy the whole damn rack, the flex looks cheap. [Turntable scratches: two bars] [Alternate short scratches with the original soul chop. Retrigger the chop twice, then leave a brief gap before the beat returns.] [Verse 2: reverse the lead voices] [Same drum weight and tempo. Keep soul chops sparse, leaving the words exposed. Loose vocal doubles only on selected line endings.] [Voice B] We split our last few coins just to make that subway ride, Now we split the takings, check the numbers line by line. [Voice A] They used to count my fuckups, now they count the cash I stack, Same kid behind the wheel—a hundred times the price tag. [Voice B] My card might show a minus, I been up where it counts, I find worth in what you throw away and make it all amount. [Voice A] You built your whole persona out of logos on a shirt, They recognize your labels—know my surname from the work. [Drum break: repeated soul chops, shouted pickup] [Drop the bass. Expose the drum break and two tightly gated soul-sample hits. Cut the sample before the shouted response.] [Both voices: shouted unison] From the work! [Verse 3: full beat returns, sharper vocal exchanges] [Restore clipped bass without a riser. Same recurring soul fragment, no new melody. Keep breaths and rough edges audible.] [Voice A] Keep your so-called respect if it switches when I leave, Seen “brothers” change allegiance for a cut of someone’s fee. [Voice B] So the louder that you swear it, the less I trust that shit, Real promises are kept—not screamed to sell the pitch. [Voice A] Never posted “Job done” with a single thing to do, Let the balance do the talking—I got nothing left to prove. [Voice B] Twenty stories just to tell us you got money in the bank, I paid the tab, tipped big—the waiter shook my hand. [Outro: spoken, drums cut] [Stop drums, bass and soul sample together. Close dry voice, no musical tail.] Same kid. Same code. Keep the change. [End: hard stop]
