[Verse 1] Blue Hawaiian stains on a paper cup Laughin' under canvas, never givin' up Friends in the tent with the flap half down Moon on the cooler, boots on the ground Tiki hut stories and a stumble home Hats tipped sideways, cheeks red as stone [Pre-Chorus] And as the years go by They don't need much more Just a cool night air And a lock on the door [Chorus] Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great" (Craig and Kim) Craig says, "Ole gray Beaver" Kim says, "That dream won't leave ya" (Not gray, not gray) Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great" [Verse 2] Now the campfire's dimmer, but the joke still lands Same old grin in the same old hands He talks real proud like a tired old king Of a place down low where the "gray" birds sing Kim shakes her head with a sweet little grin Says, "Only in your dreams, now let's go in" [Pre-Chorus] The wild nights fade But the love stays true A soft old quilt And a laugh or two [Chorus] Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great" (Craig and Kim) Craig says, "Ole gray Beaver" Kim says, "That dream won't leave ya" (Not gray, not gray) Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great" [Bridge] So here's to the tents and the crooked old tales Blue cups tipped high in the summer trails But the best thing now, when the cold winds climb Is a warm bed waiting right on time [Final Chorus] Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great" (Craig and Kim) Craig says, "Ole gray Beaver" Kim says, "That dream won't leave ya" (Not gray, not gray) Craig says, "Hit the bed at eight" Kim just laughs, "You ain't that great"
