Mmmmmm… yes Lord… Brothers and sisters… I come before you today… Tired… but seasoned properly… I rose up early… before the sun… Cooked that bacon til it was done… Packed every lunch with a loving hand… Still no applause in this promised land… I scrubbed that shower… On my knees… Prayed over dishes… In Jesus’ name… Mmmm… nobody sees… Mmmm… nobody knows… Tell me church — Have you ever folded laundry… And felt unappreciated? Have you ever refilled the toilet paper roll… Without recognition?! NOBODY LOVES MEEEEEE But I still made dinnerrrrrr! I seasoned that chicken with sorrow and thyme! And they ate it like it was ordinary time! NOBODY LOVES MEEEEEE But I vacuumed the flooooor! I hung every stocking with tear-stained grace— And got wrapping paper thrown in my face! Lead: Who cleaned the kitchen?! Choir: YOU DID, BROTHER! Lead: Who changed that lightbulb?! Choir: YOU DID, BROTHER! Lead: Who carried all the groceries in one trip?! Choir: THAT WAS YOUUUU! I shoveled snow in holy boots… Took out the trash in righteous pursuit… Fixed the WiFi with trembling hands… Still no parade through these lands… I don’t need riches… I don’t need gold… Just one “thank you”… Before I grow old… Somebody say “Appreciation!” (CHOIR: APPRECIATION!) Somebody say “Validation!” (CHOIR: VALIDATION!) SOMEBODY LOVE MEEEEEE At least acknowledge meeeee! I’ll keep frying bacon in righteousness— But clap for me occasionallyyyyy! NOBODY LOVES MEEEEEE But I still made dinner tonight! And the mac and cheese was diviiiiine— GLORY HALLELUJAH THAT WAS MINE!
