CYBERDUNE - Lost Ornithopter

CYBERDUNE - The Lost Ornithopter Night fell over the smoking wreckage of the Atreides ornithopter, the searing heat of its burning engines slowly giving way to the freezing chill of the dunes. Inside the shattered cockpit, only the rhythmic hiss of dying static power echoed into the dark. Slumped in the pilot's harness was an Atreides princess. Her soothing, rhythmic French whispers-which had kept the crew grounded during their final, desperate descent-were now replaced by silence. Harkonnen fire had shredded the wings and stabilizers, but the protective shield held just long enough to absorb the worst of the brutal impact into the sand. Of the entire crew, she was the sole survivor. Then, a dark silhouette emerged over the crest of the crater. It wasn't a Harkonnen hunting party, but a lone figure wrapped in a heavy, weathered Fremen stillsuit. In his hands he carried a peculiar device with a brass acoustic horn and an array of glowing glass vacuum tubes: Mistr Fono, a legendary sound engineer of the old deep desert, capable of reading Arrakis through its sub-bass vibrations and sonic frequencies. Working quickly, he pulled the princess from the twisted metal just as the first low-frequency tremors of an approaching sandworm began to rattle the hull. When she finally awoke deep within a hidden underground Sietch, the vast silence was broken only by the steady, mechanical pulse of ancient acoustic filters. "Your voice echoed across the emergency frequencies like a beacon," Mistr Fono said, fine-tuning the dial on his resonator. "The desert claims almost everything, Princess... but your story isn't finished yet." *********************************************************************** [Intro: Ambient Desert Wind, Heavy Sonar Ping, Radio Static] [SFX: High-pitched sonar ping echoes into deep sub-bass drop] [Robotic Vocoder Voice] System online.
