Late at night by the sea, the city lights feel far away. As the evening wind blows, I haven’t fully let go, and I’m not pretending to be healed. I just suddenly realized that even with the wounds I carry, I can still keep moving forward. Evening Wind For those who stayed silent through the long night, yet still choose to walk toward the light. On the late-night shore, a faint light is still glowing. The city in the distance looks like a silent cabin. Following the sound of the tide, I slowly walked here, handing all the weariness of the road over to the waves. Fine sand beneath my shoes still holds traces of the past. The name inside my heart still refuses to be forgotten. I do not have the courage to say I am no longer wounded. I only gather my silence into a little moonlight. The wind brushes past my shoulders, scattering a little of my panic. I gaze into the distance and no longer chase after answers. Some pain remains, some dreams will turn yellow with time, yet suddenly I understand: people must, after all, look forward. Evening wind, evening wind, blow through my chest. Carry those unspeakable wounds slowly into the distance. I have not let go, nor do I pretend to be strong. It is only that tonight, I can still keep walking on the road. Evening wind, evening wind, stay with me and watch the sea shine. Gently gather those times that can never be returned to into the waves. I am not rushing to forget, nor forcing myself to grow. As long as I wake tomorrow still willing to face the light. Moonlight on the sea shatters into silver-white pieces, like someone’s tears falling into a silent harbor. I once thought that loss was a kind of exile. Only later did I understand that loneliness, too, can grow wings. The phone has been quiet; no one has called for a long time. Memories are like the tide, echoing again and again. I did not run away, nor did I resist anymore. I only let them pass through me, like wind passing by trees. The wind blows across my eyes, drying a little of my confusion. I hear my heartbeat still sounding softly in the night. Some roads are too long, some dreams too burning hot, yet at last I am willing to walk this journey with myself. Perhaps the ones we loved will live on in old places. Perhaps the ones who left will never turn back again. Yet the sea breeze blows, again and again, through my heart, as if softly saying: do not be afraid, the sky will brighten. I place all the words left unfinished into this sea, letting it keep them for me with tenderness. From now on, I do not have to defeat sorrow. As long as I can still move forward, that is already a kind of forgiveness. Evening wind, evening wind, do not ask me where I am going. Let me carry my broken dreams and continue through the long night. Even if my heart is still wounded, even if my tears still burn, I will walk step by step toward a new dawn. The evening wind blows across the shore. The city lights are far away. At last, I did not turn back. I only walked forward, quietly.
