Old Photographs

I found a box upon the highest shelf, A little dusty, quiet by itself. The edges worn, the colors washed away, But every picture had a voice to say. A smiling face beneath a summer sky, A waving hand, a slow departing train. The years were folded into every frame, Yet somehow nothing really seemed to change. [Soft bass enters] Every faded line, Every gentle crease, Keeps another heartbeat Hidden underneath... Old photographs, Still shining through the years. Holding every laugh, Drying every tear. Though the moments fade, The love remains the same. Every faded memory Still remembers my name. The kitchen window caught the morning light, We never knew those days would leave so fast. The songs upon the old transistor played, Like promises we thought would always last. I close my eyes, I hear them once again. A thousand little stories Carried by the wind. Time may steal The colors from the page, But never takes The feelings they contain. Old photographs, Still shining through the years. Holding every laugh, Drying every tear. Though the moments fade, The love remains the same. Every faded memory Still remembers my name. If tomorrow brings another road, And every mile feels far from home, I'll carry every picture in my heart... No goodbye can tear us apart. Old photographs, Lighting up the years. Turning silent rooms Into songs we hear. Though the seasons change, And faces slowly age, Every precious memory Will never fade away. Old photographs... Still lighting up the way...
