少し説明しにくいのですが、全自動モードのカメラやスマートフォンと、マニュアル操作を前提とした高級カメラを比べるようなものでしょうか。
曲全体をひとつのパッケージとして成立させる仕組みと、便利な機能や素材を利用しながら、作り手が曲全体を仕上げていく仕組み。両者は、そもそもの設計思想がかなり違います。

とはいうものの、Music Flipを純粋な「音声生成機能」として見た場合は、まだバージョン3.0あたりの感触でしょうか。
まあ、本来はそういう使い方をするソフトではないと思いますが……。

I Tried ”Music Flip”

Music Flip is an AI-assisted music composition tool released by one of the world’s largest music companies and distributed by Roland.
That combination tells us quite a lot about its intended purpose. Music Flip works as a plug-in inside a DAW and can export four MIDI tracks: drums, bass, chords, and lead. It uses AI, but its role is to assist the human composer rather than generate an entire finished song automatically.
For this experiment, I exported the Music Flip result as audio, imported it into Suno, and used Expand to continue the track. Suno is not simply assisting at that point. It takes the material and turns it into a complete piece through full-on, one-click AI generation.
The first 18 seconds—the eight-bar introduction—were generated by Music Flip. Everything after that was connected and developed using Suno’s Expand function.
The change in sound quality is quite noticeable, but that is unavoidable. Music Flip’s audio output is closer to a temporary demo sound than a finished recording. Its real purpose is to provide MIDI material that can be edited and refined inside a DAW.
It is a little difficult to explain, but comparing the two systems is something like comparing a camera or smartphone in automatic mode with a high-end camera designed for manual control.
One system is designed to make an entire song work immediately as a complete package. The other provides useful functions and musical building blocks, leaving the user to shape and finish the full track.
Their underlying design philosophies are simply very different.
That said, when Music Flip is judged purely as an audio-generation tool, it currently feels somewhere around version 3.0.
Then again, that is probably not how the software is intended to be used.
