[Verse] In the forest dark and deep Flaming pine cones make us weep He speaks of nature’s plight While shadows hide his secret night [Verse 2] Behind the mask of green and leaves A dark truth no one believes With words that twist and turn He distracts while we all burn [Chorus] Oh flaming pine cones burning bright Cover his scandals out of sight The flames they dance in crimson hues A cunning ruse for all the news [Verse 3] In the shadows whispers grow Of secrets only few may know Is it truth or just a lie While the pine combs kiss the sky [Bridge] Promises made in daylight's glow Crumble as the embers show A spectacle for the towns Hiding all the cries and frowns [Verse 4] Underneath the flaming trees Lies deceit like autumn leaves A leader’s game of smoke and mirrors Living on our deepest fears
