Uncle Wolfie's Story

V6

(NARRATION) "Well now, pull up a cheer and hesh your fuss, 'cause I reckon it's high time I set the record straight about me and them three pork chop—err, I mean, fine young pig fellers.People love to spin yarns 'bout the Big Bad Wolf, makin' me out to be some kind of villain, when truth is, I was just a hungry neighbor tryin' to borrow a cup of sugar and maybe get a warm place to sit a spell Now, let's take it from the top with a little ditty y'all can stomp your boots" (Chorus) Oh, the wind blow high and the wind blow low, Just lookin' for a bite where the briars grow! With a huff and a puff and a little ol' breeze, I’m just a mountain critter tryna shoot the breeze! (NARATION) "Well, that fust little piggy—bless his pea-pickin' heart—built his whole house clean out of swamp straw. I just sauntered on up to his porch, knocked polite-like, and said, "Howdy, little buddy, let your Uncle Wolfie in!" And what do you think that little rascal hollered back? "Not by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin!" Well, shucks, my allergies got the better of me, I let out a little bitty sneeze, and that sorry shack just went floatin' off down the holler like dandelion fluff." (Chorus ) Oh, the wind blow high and the wind blow low, Just lookin' for a bite where the briars grow! With a huff and a puff and a little ol' breeze, I’m just a mountain critter tryna shoot the breeze! (NARATION) " So I moseyed on over to the second feller's place. Now, this one thought he was real smart, puttin' together a shack out of crooked twigs and rotten sticks. I knocked on the timber door, used my best manners, and asked to come in out of the damp night air. He give me that same lip about his chin hairs! I gave a couple of healthy coughs—had a powerful tickle in my throat, I tell ya—and that stick pile scattered faster than loose chickens when the fox is about." (Chorus ) Oh, the wind blow high and the wind blow low, Just lookin' for a bite where the briars grow! With a huff and a puff and a little ol' breeze, I’m just a mountain critter tryna shoot the breeze! (NARATION) " Now comes the kicker. That third stubborn pig built a fortress out of solid red brick, mortar and all. I huffed, I puffed, I wheezed till I turned blue in the face, and that house didn't budge an inch! So bein' nimble-footed like a true ridge-runner, I figured I'd drop down through the chimney to say howdy proper. Well, lord have mercy, those ornery rascals had a boiling pot of stew waitin' right underneath! I scorched my tail feathers, shot right back up that flue like a skyrocket, and lit out for the tall timber. I reckon I'll stick to blackberries from now on!" (Chorus) Oh, the wind blow high and the wind blow low, Just lookin' for a bite where the briars grow! With a huff and a puff and a little ol' breeze, I’m just a mountain critter tryna shoot the breeze!
