A Winter's Night (Christmas Choir)

[Verse 1] In the middle of the winter night heaven opened wide, bringing us the gift of light, hope made real inside. [Chorus] Every bird now sings its song, shepherds, why are you silent long? Let the citherns ring, let the flutes begin, let the bells and drums resound, Christ is born tonight. [Verse 2] Peace was resting everywhere, wild beasts came near, by the sheep they gathered there, and they played without fear. [Chorus] Every bird now sings its song, shepherds, why are you silent long? Let the citherns ring, let the flutes begin, let the bells and drums resound, Christ is born tonight. [Verse 3] Though the winter, snow, and ice, all the trees are blooming, for the earthly paradise has arrived this evening. [Chorus] Every bird now sings its song, shepherds, why are you silent long? Let the citherns ring, let the flutes begin, let the bells and drums resound, Christ is born tonight. [Verse 4] See, the morning star is bright, shining through the dark, for the day is drawing near, bringing heaven’s spark. [Bridge] Soon it will rise over us, shepherds, raise your flutes in trust, let the bells go bim-bam, let the drums go boom, turn around, turn around, let the bells and drums be heard, Christ is born tonight.
