Out of the Depths
[Intro – instrumental] [Verse 1] They set their course upon the sea, In ships that crossed the waters wide. They traded on the rolling tides, And saw HaShem’s great hand abide. [Verse 2] His wonders deep beneath they saw, Where darkness dwells and oceans moan. He spoke — the storm rose at His will, The waves climbed high like walls of stone. [Verse 3] They soared to heights, then plunged below, Their courage failed, their hearts gave way. They staggered like the drunk at sea, No star to guide, no light of day. [Verse 4] In trouble then they cried to Him, And HaShem heard them where they lay. He stilled the wind, He calmed the waves, And led them safely on their way. [Verse 5] They cheered when all grew still and clear, The sea lay smooth beneath the skies. HaShem then brought them to their port, Where hope could rest and dreams could rise. [Final Verse] So let them lift a song of thanks, To HaShem’s kindness, wide and grand. For wonders done for humankind, By His strong word and guiding hand. [END]
