The Mighty One, the Lord Most High, Has summoned earth and bending sky— From Zion’s peak, in perfect light, His glory blazes, fierce and bright. "Gather My saints, the vowed, the true, Who made their covenant anew." The heavens then proclaim His right— For God Himself will judge with might! "Hear, O My people—I will speak, Against you, Israel, I plead. Not for your sacrifices’ blood, Nor herds that smoke on altar wood— "For every beast on hill is Mine, The cattle throng on slopes divine. Do I eat flesh or drink blood spilled? Bring thanks, fulfill what I have willed! "But to the wicked, I say plain: "Why mouth My laws with dark disdain? You hate My ways, you scorn My word, Yet share a thief’s bed undeterred! "Your tongue weaves lies, your lips betray, You slander kin along the way. Think you I’ll stay silent, blind? I charge you—mark this, humankind! "Who offers thanks, he honors Me; Who walks aright, My face shall see." But God will tear the proud apart— Salvation crowns the upright heart!
