Judith With The Blade

[Verse 1] Bethulia under siege, gates shaking in the heat Holofernes at the door, brought the smoke to every street Heads bowed, mouths dry, fear sitting on the walls But Judith stayed upright, hearing heaven in the halls Widow with a plan, not a word of waste Sackcloth in her closet, fire hidden in her face She washed, she dressed, she stepped like a queen Carried courage in her eyes, steel in the seams Then she prayed for a lane, let me move by Your hand Let me see through the terror, let me stand where I stand Took her maid and her basket, walked straight into the camp Every eye on the beauty, every blade in the damp [Pre-Chorus] She said, watch me move Watch me move If I got favor on me Then the night can't bruise [Chorus] Judith with the blade Judith with the blade One prayer, one strike Make the proud man fade Judith with the blade Judith with the blade When the people lost hope She brought heaven to the cave [Verse 2] Holofernes wanted crowns, wanted wine, wanted praise Judith kept it cool while she mapped out his ways Praise on her tongue, but the trap was in the room He got drunk on his own name, love walked into the tomb Midnight in the tent, one breath, then still She took that sword in her hands like she took back the will Two swings, then silence, then the dawn turned red Maid grabbed the severed trophy, carried judgment to the bed Back at the city gate, the whole crowd woke up Hope hit the wounded walls like a cup overflowed up Enemy broke rank when they saw that head Fear left the valley, and the faithful stood instead [Pre-Chorus] She said, watch me move Watch me move He who lifts himself up Gets cut down too [Chorus] Judith with the blade Judith with the blade One prayer, one strike Make the proud man fade Judith with the blade Judith with the blade When the people lost hope She brought heaven to the cave [Bridge] Not by muscle, not by pride By the hand that stayed beside A widow made the strong man kneel Truth was sharp, and truth was real [Chorus] Judith with the blade Judith with the blade One prayer, one strike Make the proud man fade Judith with the blade Judith with the blade When the people lost hope She brought heaven to the cave
