[Intro - funky guitar, bass groove, crisp drums] Hold up... Did somebody tell October It could come in here looking this good? Red... Gold... Orange... All right then. DROP THAT BEAT! [Verse 1] Sun going down and the streetlights glow Cool little breeze saying, "Where you wanna go?" Music coming through from across the way And my feet already decided we ain't standing still today Leaves on the sidewalk, rhythm in the trees Whole world moving with the autumn breeze Grab somebody laughing, bring 'em over here We got plenty of reasons to celebrate this year [Pre-Chorus] No fancy invitation No perfect circumstance If you've got breath inside you You've got a reason to dance! [Chorus] October dancing Under red and golden skies October dancing Come on, feel alive Spin around, laugh too loud Let those leaves come raining down Don't just watch this season passing Come on! October dancing! [Verse 2] Some days come heavy Some nights feel long That's exactly why we need a good song Joy isn't pretending everything's okay Sometimes joy is choosing not to give your whole day away So bring that smile you've been saving Bring those tired feet too You don't have to dance like anybody else Just dance like you! [Chorus] October dancing Under red and golden skies October dancing Come on, feel alive Spin around, laugh too loud Let those leaves come raining down Don't just watch this season passing Come on! October dancing! [Rap Break - fast, playful] Left foot, right foot, kick that leaf Shake off worry, shake off grief Red overhead, gold down low Whole block bouncing, here we go! Bad day tried following me outside Told that bad day, "You ain't invited tonight!" Got my people, got my beat Got October underneath my feet One life, one chance, one right now Don't need rhythm, we'll teach you how Hands up high, let gratitude happen SISTER GRACE! OCTOBER DANCING! [Dance Break - horns, bass and handclaps] Hey! Hey! Hey! Keep moving! [Final Chorus - huge gospel harmonies] October dancing Under red and golden skies October dancing Thank God I'm alive! Spin around, laugh too loud Let those leaves come raining down Life is happening while we're laughing So come on! October dancing! [Outro - music cuts to footsteps crunching leaves] Whew... Okay. Who put all these leaves here? [Beat hits once] Worth it.
