[Verse 1] You could reach for the highest chair And let the room remember your name But love turns toward the waiting heart And serves without a claim The finest place is not the front The truest strength is kind A willing hand, a listening ear A heart that leaves pride behind [Pre-Chorus] When I forget what love is for Remind me with Your Word The one who serves the least of these Is precious to the Lord [Chorus] Love does not seek its own way It gives and does not keep score To be great is to serve with joy To open wide the door Let me be a blessing, Lord Not reaching to be seen With humble hands and faithful care Show me what love can mean [Verse 2] Two friends once asked for honored seats Beside the King above But Jesus taught the twelve that day The highest road is love Not titles worn to lift a name Not praise that fades away But sharing burdens, giving time And serving day by day [Pre-Chorus] If I would help Your family Then make my purpose true Let every task, however small Be offered first to You [Chorus] Love does not seek its own way It gives and does not keep score To be great is to serve with joy To open wide the door Let me be a blessing, Lord Not reaching to be seen With humble hands and faithful care Show me what love can mean [Instrumental Interlude] [Bridge] A brother serving others Can strengthen every heart A quiet act of kindness Can make a new day start Like bread shared at the table Like shelter in the rain The love that asks for nothing back Will never serve in vain [Final Chorus] Love does not seek its own way It gives and does not keep score To be great is to serve with joy To open wide the door Let me be a blessing, Lord Keep pride outside my heart With humble hands and faithful care Teach me the servant’s part [Children’s Choir] We will serve with joyful hearts We will give and care [Final Chorus] Love does not seek its own way It gives and does not keep score To be great is to serve with joy To open wide the door Let me be a blessing, Lord In all I say and do With humble hands and faithful care May love shine through [Outro] May love shine through May love shine through
