Cycle of Judges

[Verse 1] No king in the land Just smoke in the sand Every man did what Seemed right in his hand Came up from the floor Then they bent back low Cried out for help Then they lost the glow The same old cycle Round and round it spins Fall into the dark Then the dawn walks in [Pre-Chorus] Hear that cry rise From the thorn and dust When they call His name He remembers us [Chorus] When the people fall He still calls them back When the people fall He straightens the track Judges rise, judges fall Still the mercy stays Judges rise, judges fall Through the fire and rain [Verse 2] Deborah stood tall By the palm tree sway Told the brave to move And the night gave way Gideon shook at first By the winepress deep But a small band won While the strong lay sleep Samson in the gates With a secret flame Strength in his hands But he broke his name [Pre-Chorus] Hear that cry rise From the thorn and dust When they call His name He remembers us [Chorus] When the people fall He still calls them back When the people fall He straightens the track Judges rise, judges fall Still the mercy stays Judges rise, judges fall Through the fire and rain [Bridge] Jephthah at the door With a heavy vow You can hear regret In the wordless crowd Every hero's scar Every faithful tear Shows the same old truth He was always near [Chorus] When the people fall He still calls them back When the people fall He straightens the track Judges rise, judges fall Still the mercy stays Judges rise, judges fall Through the fire and rain
