[Verse 1] Under a toadstool cap you met your twin Little white tooth with a grin and a grin You leaned in close like, “What’s your name?” It said, “I’m lunch” and started the game [Pre-Chorus] One bite then two then the whole thing too Your little cap tilted into a purple hue [Chorus] A mushroom ate a mushroom oh, what a ride A mushroom ate a mushroom and you lost your mind (ate a mushroom) A mushroom ate a mushroom swirl and spin A mushroom ate a mushroom and the woods went thin [Verse 2] Now the ants wore crowns and the moss could sing Raindrops marched in step like a tiny brass ring You swore the moon was a jellyfish face Then your shadow split and took your place [Pre-Chorus] One bite then two then the whole thing too Your little cap tilted into a purple hue [Chorus] A mushroom ate a mushroom oh, what a ride A mushroom ate a mushroom and you lost your mind (ate a mushroom) A mushroom ate a mushroom swirl and spin A mushroom ate a mushroom and the woods went thin [Bridge] Every spore in the air said, “buddy, take your time” You laughed so hard you climbed a vine of rhyme Then the sky folded up like a paper fan And the mushroom next to you said, “I knew you’d understand” [Chorus] A mushroom ate a mushroom oh, what a ride A mushroom ate a mushroom and you lost your mind (ate a mushroom) A mushroom ate a mushroom swirl and spin A mushroom ate a mushroom and the woods went thin [Outro] Oh, what a psychedelic trip oh, what a sight A mushroom ate a mushroom and the stars said, “nice”
