Verse 1 Get your shoes a little muddy, Skin your knees once in a while. Ask a hundred crazy questions, Wear your biggest, brightest smile. Build a fort out of blankets, Sail a pirate ship in bed. Turn a box into a rocket, Build a castle in your head. Pre-Chorus You don’t need a reason, You don’t need a plan. Chorus Catch a firefly, climb a tree, Every day’s a chance to play. Live each moment joyfully, That’s the way to be a kid. Sing too loud, dream too big, Let your imagination run wild. Go explore and laugh and dig, That’s the way to be a kid. Verse 2 Wave at every passing puppy, Splash through every puddle deep. Chase a rainbow after rain, Stay awake and fight your sleep. Make your grandma laugh so hard Her cheeks are getting sore. Leave a trail of muddy footprints Running through the door. Pre-Chorus Someday you’ll remember These ordinary days. Chorus Catch a firefly, climb a tree, Every day’s a chance to play. Live each moment joyfully, That’s the way to be a kid. Sing too loud, dream too big, Let your imagination run wild. Go explore and laugh and dig, That’s the way to be a kid. Bridge The world will hand you schedules, Deadlines, bills, and shoes to fill. So while your pockets still hold pebbles, Hold onto wonder if you will. There’ll be plenty of tomorrows When life starts getting tough. Today is for collecting moments… Not just growing up. Final Chorus Catch a firefly, climb a tree, Every day’s a chance to play. Live each moment joyfully, That’s the way to be a kid. Sing too loud, dream too big, Let your imagination run wild. Go explore and laugh and dig, That’s the way to be a kid. Outro Run and play. Laugh all day. Keep that smile. Come what may.
