You were born in a stable No room at the inn A stable was all to be found Imagine how unclean it was No crown in a cradle of splinters Just a whisper in the night Heaven's promise at the door Every broken Humble beginning Was burning with Your light Born in a stable Laid in a manger Seated in glory That’s my Savior That’s His story How I started isn’t how I’ll end You have loved me You call me friend I am a new creation in Your name Qualified by mercy Not by shame Thank You Father I’m not who I was before I’m only Yours I’m only Yours (oh-oh) You stepped into dust and disorder So my past could lose its hold I've been told I am nothing All the stains The fear The failure You have buried in Your wounds Now the labels that tried to define me Fall off at the sound of Your grace I see future in Your footsteps I see freedom in Your love Born in a stable Laid in a manger Seated in glory That’s my Savior That’s His story How I started isn’t how I’ll end You have loved me You call me friend I am a new creation in Your name Qualified by mercy Not by shame Thank You Father I’m not who I was before I’m only Yours I’m only Yours From the rough-hewn wood To the empty grave You have written over Every yesterday I am not my scars I am not my sin In the name of Jesus I am born again Born in a stable Laid in a manger Seated in glory That’s my Savior That’s His story How I started isn’t how I’ll end You have loved me You call me friend I am a new creation in Your name Qualified by mercy Not by shame Thank You Father I’m not who I was before I’m only Yours I’m only Yours
