_______________________________________ Not on the scales — lay it on the heart, What aches, what glows, what tears apart. Scales are cold as January’s hush, The heart — a flame in midnight’s crush. Scales will say: “Let go, don’t hold!” But heart will whisper: “He’s your soul.” Scales depart with logic’s decree… The heart forgives — eternally. You weighed the truth? You weighed the lie? But can you weigh the tear in your eye? Scales won’t know how dawnlight smells, Or how goodbye in silence dwells. You thought the mind would shield from fire? Your heart burned down — for your desire. It never counted loss or gain — It gave… beyond all sense or chain. Let them cry: “You failed again!” But in that failure — truth, my friend. Scales know not childhood’s whispered prayer, Nor how the heart must break — to care. So lay it not on weights — but dreams, On midnight’s sigh, on vanished gleams. On what can’t be priced, bought, or sold — On what can’t be kept… yet can’t grow old. Let not the scales — but soul decide, Though sharp as knives, yet sweet as tide. Let it be flawed, like childhood’s vow… But real. And yours. And here. And now. Qu’ils crient : « Tu as failli, encore, toujours !
