Gluttonous Moon (Aaro Hellaakoski) (Cover)
Do you remember those moments when it was just us two alone, rowing through the bay’s still waters beneath the moon’s quiet glow? That moon, round and gluttonous, with cheeks so plump and bright, devoured every cloud in sight— nothing else would do, just so. It climbed across the sky above, puffing, panting all the way, and any cloud it could grab hold of, it swallowed whole without delay. But soon, from all the feasting, it grew tired, worn, and slow, its face became so greasy with fingers sticky as though. And with its lip now drooping, it smiled down at us two, as if it wanted to consume us, in one gulp—just me and you. That was then. Now look at the moon, does it still smile, do you see? Hell no, I think it's crying— it’s not as happy as it used to be. It received the punishment all gluttons face at last, a year of regret and sorrow with a stomach ache that won’t pass.
