[Verse 1] Turned on the six o'clock news tonight Another headline, another fight Another reason they say I oughta be afraid Another storm cloud headed our way But outside my window the kids still played Old Mr. Johnson still waved And Miss Betty down at the diner knew Everybody's order before they do [Pre-Chorus] I'm not sayin' there ain't trouble out there Lord knows there's plenty to spare [Chorus] But there's still more good than bad More right than wrong More folks helpin' neighbors than the news lets on More prayers than problems More hope than fear If you count your blessings, it's all pretty clear Yeah the world's got its troubles Lord, that's a fact But when I look around me There's still more good than bad [Verse 2] Saw a teacher buy supplies herself When the school couldn't afford the help Saw a farmer pull a stranger's truck Outta the mud just because he could Saw a church fill up a food bank shelf Folks givin' more than they kept themselves Never made the headlines, never got applause Just people doin' what good people do [Pre-Chorus] The loudest voices get the most airtime But they don't speak for all mankind [Chorus] There's still more good than bad More right than wrong More folks helpin' neighbors than the news lets on More prayers than problems More hope than fear If you count your blessings, it's all pretty clear Yeah the world's got its troubles Lord, that's a fact But when I look around me There's still more good than bad [Bridge] I ain't blind to the darkness I know it's out there too But I've seen too much kindness To believe that's all that's true Every day somebody's lendin' a hand Every day somebody takes a stand For what's right [Final Chorus] There's still more good than bad More right than wrong More hearts still beatin' to an honest song More love than hatred More faith than fear If you count your blessings, it's all pretty clear Yeah the world's got its troubles Lord, that's a fact But if you open your eyes you'll see There's still more good than bad [Outro] Yeah, there's still more good than bad
